I just tested it with site:http://*.craigslist.org (item to be searched for) and it appears to work when I manually test it. When I tested it, I got links from all over the country. Now if someone would list what I am looking for... :)

Thanks for this wonderful idea Dave.

Google alerts is great, but www.notifinder.com takes it a step further. It can predict how often new listings are posted so you can set up the perfect search! Try it out, its free, fast and easy.

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about writing a script to create my own alerts so this will save me lots of time!

Is there any code that works to get alerted by Craigslist from all areas. Like replacing "Philadelphia" with * or something?

We have created a site that sends you an email whenever the item you are searching for on Craigslist is posted.

The search can be as complex or simple as you want. Just use the advanced search features.

Check it out at http://www.list-alert.com

We welcome your feedback - thanks.

Hi! We do this service for multiple sites and multiple niche search term matches. And Im still not seeing how Google Alerts allows you to do matching to custom URLs.

For instance, we scan multiple URLs for you for multiple or single keywords. Check out www.cellalert.net/trackanything

I can't find any way to do that with Google Alerts.
